IN THIS QUARTERLY
While God used prophets throughout history, He also had judges and priests and kings to help guide Israel in particular and mankind in general. We will learn there were good judges and priests. But unfortunately, there were bad ones as well.
What is of particular note is that when the leader was good and strong, Israel flourished, but when they were weak, Israel suffered. Scripture also tells us of a time when "...every man did that which was right in his own eyes" (Judges 21:25).
Since our Priest, Jesus, is the "...head of the body..." (Colossians 1:18), let us faithfully follow Him and not our own desires.
The Church of God Sabbath School Lessons is a quarterly publication containing study lessons used to deepen our understanding of God's word.
